As a youth, I see the importance of education in my life. With the prestigious opportunities I have received in my educational background, I can truly see the difference that receiving quality education can make for a child. I believe all youths should be given this opportunity. Every child should have the rights to access 21st Century education. Unfortunately, not all children are fortunate to. Quality education is the foundation for youths to reach their full potential, for the country to economically flourish, and for the world to be a step closer to achieving sustainable development. Having the opportunities I have received, I decided to start creating these opportunities for others. Inspired by Gandhi’s quote, “be the change you wish to see in the world”. I created Speaking Hub, an organisation that creates learning opportunities for Thai students to practice English speaking and gain awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I believe in the value of education to the world, in the power of a community that believes in better, in the abilities of youths in creating a change for the world.

Growing up I have always had a special interest in education, simply because I believe it plays an essential role in our lives. I realize that not everyone views it the same nor do they have access to these opportunities. I believe that quality education is not a privilege but a right that everyone should have access to; but the reality of it just doesn’t seem to be that way. It is undeniable that English is one of the most spoken languages in the world, Speaking Hub uses English simply as a stepping stone to teach something larger; social issues. Through the means of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we are creating a society of youths who understand our biggest battles. Being a teacher of these youths is an honor, only with them and their understanding of the world around them, can we move forward and change.

I’m the proof of how education can change someone’s life. I know by heart how just being able to use English well can lead to countless opportunities, and I want others to know this too. Sadly, not everyone has access to quality education. It’s time to change. Yet I know that in order to create change, you need time, effort, and passion. Fortunately, Speaking Hub has all of that. Even better, we transform passion into action emphasizing the power of education. We also tap into other social issues by integrating SDGs into English teaching which is our core. As a part of the Curriculum Design team, I’m doing my best to ensure the smoothest combination to provide the best and easy-to-digest contents and materials on our platform. I believe Speaking Hub will become something greater, and I just can’t wait to see how far we’ll go.

As a person who has grown up in different parts of the world and is fortunate to have a good educational background, I have been immersed in opportunities that have allowed me to reach my full potential. Unfortunately, this is not the case for everyone. It is time to speak up and become a changemaker. I have an immense appreciation for what Speaking Hub stands for, to provide equal access to quality education; this organization strengthens my motivation to improve Thailand’s education and give back to the community. Being part of the Curriculum Design and Research Team, our goal is to empower students to learn new skills and gain new insights through our applicable curriculum. We aim to create an encouraging classroom environment so that teachers and students can use English language with confidence, along with critical thinking skills and freedom to express their opinions. Together, we can become changemakers.

Language is a gateway to endless possibilities, and English is of the keys for those; yet, access to it is still a privilege many cannot have. That is why we are here; to give opportunity, to help those who

As we all usually heard the phrase “knowing English is an advantage”, well, it is possibly true. For me, learning languages apart from my own does give me the advantages. This advantage includes all things possible, we could see different perspectives of the world and more. There are ways to reach that advantage, one is through Speaking Hub. When I first joined the team, it gave me the sense of fulfillment. I am one of many people that want to improve Thai education system to be better, and the Speaking Hub would be one way to do that. We have learned many things so we would like to share these good things to others. Not everybody gets the chance to learn English everyday, but in the Speaking Hub, we aim to fill that missing gap. We are doing this by heart and we want to spread this out as far as possible.

A number of people have asked me about my career path as a successful student and teenager. Every time I answer them, “If I had not studied English, I would not be able to stand where I am now”.

I have always been, and still to this day, grateful for my opportunities that lead me to a prestigious and quality education. The taste of liberation and autonomy from having fortune in the form of education is priceless. But for some reasons not every youth in this country has the chance to taste it. The fact that only a handful of Thai students have the access to effective English learning resents me, let alone being able to follow their dreams. This is the main reason I decided to join Speaking Hub, so the circumstance is not a fact no more.

I have always had an interest in education and I’m a firm believer that everyone deserves equal rights to quality education. Unfortunately it seems that quality education is a privilege and not a right. I joined the Speaking Hub core team to do my part in reciprocating the opportunities that I have received to those who lack them. English communication is a crucial skill that is needed, and I want to do my part in making sure as many students as possible have the opportunity to improve their skills. Other than giving back to society in terms of English speaking skills, Speaking Hub also aims to approach social issues by teaching the students English speaking skills through the topics of the Sustainable Development Goals. I am so happy to be part of an organisation that is making a difference and I can’t wait to see it to grow.

Opportunity sounds like a simple word, but still meaningful to the majority of people. Lots of students don't even have an opportunity to receive a quality education. Thankful for my childhood since I always have chances to do what I love. Studying English, attending Work And Travel Program and surrounded by people that are proficient in English, I realized that English is definitely important as it's used internationally and also a doorway to opportunities. I believe that it's time to make changes, to create opportunities for others from what we've received. Being chosen as a part of Speaking Hub, I consider myself fortunate because it might not be easy to eliminate those inequalities in our community solely but as a part of Speaking Hub, everything becomes possible. I trust that we can make changes through our commitment, initiative, and can-do attitude. To create sustainable growth, we all are important factors.

I believe that education is a key to success. Unfortunately, according to the education situation in Thailand, quality one is for the privileged, not a basic right. I therefore joined Speaking Hub to be a part of making changes, to share what I, the privileged, have received to those who lack and are willing to learn.

As a curious individual, I have asked myself: What is the one thing that will never run out under any condition?

The quote, an investment in knowledge pays the best interest by Benjamin Franklin made me realize that one of the answers to my question is education.

Through my educational experiences, I believe that quality education is an opportunity that should be made available for anyone who is willing to learn. No studious person should be stopped because of any factor; whether it be income, time, accessibility. As we move towards globalization, the ability to communicate ideas becomes mandatory. The exchange of ideas itself can be promoted through educating languages, which is one of Speaking Hub’s focus. I joined the organization with hopes to establish educational opportunities, allowing the next generation to confidently exchange ideas in a universally accepted language.

Personally, I believe that education is one of the most important things in one’s childhood. Education should be something that is reachable to everyone regardless of their status and wealth, however, this might not be the truest statement in today’s society. As a person that is fortunate enough to have had good quality education throughout his life, I think it is time for me to give back to society what was given to me. I can do this with the help of Speaking Hub because I am able to provide quality education for free. Speaking Hub not only provides the opportunity to learn the english language, but it also utilizes critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills into the lesson as well. As a part of the student outreach team, our main goal is to reach out to as many students as possible and provide a better future for them.

I have had many favorite classes and teachers in school. These teachers aren’t the ones whose classes I probably got the best grades in; they are the ones who taught me that there are so many more important qualities to obtain in life to be successful. I want to give back to my community and share those qualities with others, and Speaking Hub gives me that opportunity. Speaking Hub uses English as a medium to encourage students to improve their critical thinking skills, allowing them to discuss important issues with teachers and other classmates. By helping them enhance their English-speaking skills, I get to provide the youth the opportunity to learn more about themselves and the environment around them, so that they also adapt the skills and get the chance to bring fruitful changes to our environment.

As a person who is fortunate enough to have a good education background, It is undeniable being able to communicate in English leads to countless opportunities. Sadly, quality education is not something that every Thai student has access to. I have always wanted to give back to society by teaching English to young generations, providing them with a better future and education. This has always been my passion, and that is what Speaking Hub stands for. This organisation has motivated me to improve Thai education or even to change somebody's life. Being a part of the Teacher Outreach team, our goal is to gain passionate and qualified teachers to teach our students. It is so exciting to see Speaking Hub growing and becoming a greater platform for everyone.

I consider myself a passionate youth. I always push myself to acknowledge the flaws in society and think of ways to fix or improve them. Having the opportunity and privilege to enter an international schooling system since preschool, I was able to learn problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, as well as communication skills. Or as I call it “The three pillars of Success.”

Having high motivation on creating change, I am able to apply my “Three Pillars of Success” to what I aim to do, my work ethic, the people I work with, as well as applying to my surrounding society. I have a strong believe in humans, I believe that our complex minds, and the spectacular structure of our brains, allows us to make the change we wish to see in the world.

To you who have read our passionate voices until the end, it should now be apparent to you how unbelievable it is that endless doors to knowledge and opportunities are opened simply once a person understands English. Yet, quality English education is still not accessible to most people, and that has become the defining point of our cooperation and accomplishment as humans. I would like to thank you who are reading this for joining Speaking Hub and/or giving it the attention it deserves; your simple action helps support the continuation of this self-less initiative.

Please allow me the honour to conclude this with a particular Chinese proverb whose attestation will be observable in the years to come:

“If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.”
